Providing art consultancy services for long years, our corporation has contributed to the formation of noteworthy collections in our country. Portakal Art and Culture House forms collections by buying works of art for corporations and individuals, and makes suggestions to the owners of various works of art in different branches of art on how they could evaluate these works.

 

The Sakıp Sabancı Collection of Calligraphy, prominent among the significant collections formed by the contributions of Portakal Art and Culture House, is one of the most extensive private collections of Ottoman calligraphy in the world and includes the works of almost all of the important Ottoman calligraphers who lived during the period from the second half of the 15^th century to the 20^th century.

 

Seventy-one magnificent works from this collection were exhibited in the prominent museums of the world between the years 1998 and 2001 under the title “Letters in Gold: Ottoman Calligraphy from the Sakıp Sabancı Collection”:
