Ottoman Masterpieces Exhibition

It is a known fact that the tombacs, silver, porcelain, sculptures and paintings, hilyes and plaques that hung on the walls of palaces, chateaus, mansions and waterside residences, which used to decorate them, passed from hand to hand over time and, so to speak, followed their own life lines. This line often ends in a museum. But this time, it is a new adventure that begins. Now, the number of those who will follow its beauty, its place in art history and its importance has increased. Perspectives have changed. The field of interest has expanded. For this reason, they need to rest at night. For this reason, museums are closed to visitors at night. From time to time, I try to visualize the "life lines" of these works. There are such powerful personalities that the works they once owned, the objects they looked at every day or the objects they used inevitably carry their traces. Thus, it seems to me that the new owner of that work is buying those memories along with that work or "objet". I know that my father also sold many of the works that my grandfather sold. There are works that both my grandfather and my father sold, and I had the chance to resell them. I experienced all these thoughts and feelings while organizing this exhibition. My late father used to say: Son, know that all these beauties belong to everyone. Our job is not to hide them, but to deliver them to those who love them. I organized this exhibition to bring these masterpieces together with those who will love them. RP
