Hasan Vecihi Bereketoğlu
He was born in Rhodes. He completed his primary and secondary education in Egypt due to his father's civil service. After completing high school in Rhodes, he chose law as a profession. He was interested in painting since his childhood. Bereketoğlu, who took his first lessons from Halil Pasha, continued at the Academy Julian in Paris. The artist is one of the founders of the Turkish Painters Society and the Fine Arts Union . He became a notable representative of the trend he founded and imposed for a long time at the Fine Arts Union . The artist, who worked with the belief in impressionist art from the beginning, combined this belief with realism and produced powerful works. Bereketoğlu, an open-air painter, painted landscapes especially in Kadıköy and its surroundings. His still lifes, which included copper vessels shining under the effect of a local light, became the constant subject of his later paintings. His paintings, which he created within the view and taste patterns of impressionist aesthetics, are a continuation of academic-impressionist art.
