Pencil and watercolour on paper. The phrase "Sketches from my second and third albums" is written on it in the artist's own handwriting.
The sketches depict landscapes and people living in places the artist visited, such as Naples, Pendik, Tripoli, Pera, Capri, Paris, Karaköy and Galata.

LEONARDO DE MANGO
In 1862, he won first place in a drawing competition and entered the Naples Academy. He studied there for 8 years with teachers such as D'Auria, Molderelli, Pastiglione, Manunelli and Domenico Morelli. The influence of the orientalist Decamps can be seen in the artist's compositions from this period. In Istanbul, he painted landscapes from Fener, Eyüp, the Islands, Büyükdere and Göksu with other Italian artists such as Zonaro, Valeri and Bello. The artist's painting "Sea View from Büyükada" is located in the Chigi Palace.
