THEODORE ALEXANDER WEBER 1838-1907
At the age of 16, Theodore Weber chose the art world as his professional career. In 1854, he was apprenticed to Wilhelm August Leopold Christian Krause, who specialized in seascapes, in Berlin. After two years of intensive training, he decided to continue on his own and went to Paris.
Weber painted the French coast and shore for the next thirty years. He painted working fishermen's boats and slowly moving boats on his canvases. He created many dramatic compositions showing the effects of nature's forces on man's marine life.
